Joel Smith, Princeton Ph.D. and Curator of Photography at the Princeton University Art Museum, will provide a special introduction to Starburst: Color Photography in America 1970-1980. The show is the first-ever museum survey of the "New Color Photography" in the 1970s and features 18 artists who fast-forwarded their medium out of its black-and-white past and put it at the center of contemporary art.

Joel will provide an overview of the major artistic themes in the exhibition and be available to answer questions as we explore the works currently on exhibit across various galleries. Read more about the show

Please meet inside the Museum’s main room on the second floor (follow the staircase behind information desk up to the second floor). While our event will end at 8pm, the Museum will remain open until 10pm and we encourage you to explore the galleries at your leisure.
